Don't know what to wear for your photoshoot?

Three women wearing long dresses dance and laugh together at sunset.

Here are some quick tips for picking your outfit(s):

  1. Wear something you are comfortable and feel fabulous in. When I do sessions, I like to incorporate games to get you moving and laughing! If you are wearing pants make sure they allow you to bend over and sit down before leaving the house. Dresses and long skirts are also great options for movement amd comfort.

  2. When in doubt, go with items in pastels, neutrals and earth tones (examples: white, rust, grey, brown, mustard, pink, blue, lilac, green). These colour palettes are timeless and won't distract from you as the subject when looking at your photographs.

  3. Want to change up your look partway through without a full outfit change? Wear layers and bring accessories like hats, jackets and sweaters.

  4. Dress for the weather if you want an outdoor experience. We can always add or remove jackets, mitts, etc. but if you are too cold you won't have fun!

  5. Doing a session with others? Consider coordinating instead of matching (although I'm a BIG fan of matching outfits in cheesy group photos). Have one person plan out their outfit and then play off of that.

Bottom line: Follow your heart and dress so you feel like your wonderful self 💛.

If you feel overwhelmed or stressed about your options, ask your photographer!

And if you book a session with me, I'll also provide a getting ready guide - I'm here for you!
