"Can I bring my dog to my session?"

A small dog peeks out from behind the legs of a family member.

YES, PLEASE! Like Baxter here, your pets are part of your family and I'd love to help you include them in photographs you'll cherish fur-ever (buckle up for some cute puns).

How to prepare:

  1. Treats - Bring their favourite treats to help with commands and to make them feel more comfortable.

  2. Practice - If you want them to wear something new like a bandana, try to practice with your dog/pet wearing it leading up to the session. Incorporate lots of positive reinforcement so on the day-of the item won't make them anxious or uncomfortable.

  3. Handler - I'd recommend that you bring another person that isn't being photographed to help with your pet when they're not needed. Your pet likely won't be in every photo and we want to give them breaks so they don't become over-stimulated!

  4. Leash - Please leash your pet and consider using one that isn't outrageously flashy (unless that's your style 💃). Incorporating neutral tones are best to not pull attention away from your pet or you in the photos. Note: Reflective leashes, harnesses and collars should be left at home because they do not photograph well.

  5. Advice - Unsure? Don't hesitate to ask for advice to make sure it's the best experience pawsible.

Your pets are part of your family! Let's chat about fun and comfortable ways to include them in your beautiful memories along with you. -Krystal
